He was born Sept. 10, 1957, in Tryon to Crate Richard and Joan (Booker) Jackson. He married Emily (Meyer) on Nov. 8, 1980, in Colby, Kansas.

He was a direct service professional for Development Services of Northwest Kansas, Hays, Kansas, for 11 years.

He attended Brevard Junior College in North Carolina, and Colby Community College in Colby, Kansas. He played basketball at both colleges. Later, in Colby, he owned Jackson&squo;s Counter Tops and Cabinets. He lived in Hays, Kansas since 1996, moving from Colby.

Survivors include his wife, Emily Jackson, of the home; one son, Solomon Jackson, of the home; three daughters, Michaela Conner and husband, Jeremy, Gracie &dquo;Jobeth&dquo; Giebler and husband, Stephen, and Chloe Beougher and husband, Mathieu, all of Hays, Kansas; his father, Crate Richard Jackson, and wife, Joyce of McBee, S.C.; his mother, Joan Sheppard and husband, Benny of Tryon, his grandmother, Jewel Green of Tryon; one sister, Kathy &dquo;Jewel&dquo; Tolliver and husband, Chris of South Carolina; one step-brother, David of Virginia; and three grandchildren, Hayden, Landon, and Jillyan of Hays, Kansas.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jason Booker, and one sister, Julia Ann Carey.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at Liberty Christian Church, 120 W. Ninth St., Hays, Kansas. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
