Born in Columbia, S.C. he was the son of Charles Taylor of Rutherfordton and Maggie W. Hagood of Easley, S.C. Paternal grandparents were the late Charlie and Mallie Taylor of Mill Spring,&bsp; and maternal grandparents were the late Dock B. and Gertrude P. Wilson, also of Mill Spring. Randy was the nephew of Rebecca W. (Bobby) Pierce and Gail W. (Truman) Pierce, both of Landrum, Clara J. (Russell) Godfrey of Inman, Bessie J. Wilson of Tryon, and Kenneth L. Wilson (Mildred) of Gaffney.

He was a member of Tri-City Baptist Church, Forest City.

Final resting place is Round Hill Baptist Church, Union Mills, N.C. A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 25 at Tri-City Baptist Church.
