The Jumper (speed) Classics will be held on Saturday morning. The Blue Ridge Junior and Adult Equitation Medal Finals will take place Sunday morning. Riders have competed all year to quality for the Medal Finals Competition, which will be judging primarily the rider and their seemingly effortless control of their mounts.

Typically, the top 10 riders in the point standings are invited to compete at the finals. After jumping one round and doing flat work, the field is usally narrowed to four riders, who then undergo additional testing via a shortened jumping course they are apprised of verbally at ringside.

Upon completion of the Medal Finals and presentation of awards, the schedule will conclude Sunday with the Hunter Classics. These will be comprised of two jumping rounds scored numerically and added together for the Classic winner.

To interject some lighthearted fun into the weekend, Saturday night features the costume class – a favorite of the young riders who dress up not only themselves, but their ponies as well! This years costume class will award $300 in prize money. Following the costume class will be another favorite – The Hunt Team Challenge. Three riders will form a team and enter the ring together, jumping a course for jumps one behind the other. They conclude the course by simultaneously jumping the last jump in unison, three abreast. The Hunt Team Challenge will award $2,000 in prize money to the top teams.

Refreshments will be served during the Saturday evening and Sunday morning events. The public is invited to come enjoy some great riding exhibitions, and lighthearted Halloween fun at Harmon Field this weekend.
