The two teams will be split this year between area law enforcement, including the Polk County Sheriff&squo;s Office, the N.C. Highway Patrol, the Columbus Police Department, the Black Mountain Police Department and the Polk County Department of Social Services.

The fire team will consist of firefighters from local departments and youth football coaches.

This year donations have already been collected in order for the law enforcement and fire teams to purchase equipment, including pads and helmets (volunteers pay for their own uniforms). With that equipment already bought, the teams can play to benefit local charities.

Other donations can be sent to the Polk County Sheriff&squo;s Office or to the Columbus Fire Department.
