Mr. Miller was born in Edgefield County, S.C., and was a member of Republican Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Miller was first married to the late Frances McClain Miller and then the late Virginia Medlock Miller. He was a lifelong farmer and was retired from Dupont.

Survivors include three daughters, Sue Pruitt of Campobello, Gladys Spires and Margaret Ann Thompson, both of Edgefield; three sons, Harry Miller Jr., Jim Ed Miller, Ricky Miller, all of Edgefield; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Republican Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Republican Baptist Church Building Fund, 610 Republican Road, Clarks Hill, S.C. 29821 or the Connie Maxwell Children&squo;s Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, S.C. 29648.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
