Harmon Field will be alive Friday 4-6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. ‐ 6 p.m., and Sunday Noon ‐ 5 p.m. with displays from some of the region&squo;s finest arts and crafts along with kids activities and demonstrations. Kathleen Carson will also be working on some hand painted tiles while Bill Crowell is busy bending iron in Saluda Forge. Further up the hill in Saluda the &dquo;Caboose Alley&dquo; Merchants invite you to stop by for their Harvest Festival and Open House featuring fun for the whole family including live music. Saturday night there is music in every corner of the county, but I know I&squo;m headed to catch Frank Vignola & his Rhythm Machine at the Tryon Fine Arts Center at 8 p.m. Vignola is a master guitar player with an amazing line up of his &dquo;first call&dquo; musicians. Named by Les Paul as one of his &dquo;Five Most Admired Guitarists&dquo; and called the &dquo;most vicious tremolo-picker on the scene&dquo; by the editor of guitar player magazine, Vignola is considered one of the finest multi-dimensional guitars players on the planet. The show will run the gamut from acoustic rock to gypsy jazz mixed with classical, bluegrass, swing and blues. Sunday in Tryon the Tryon Presbyterian Church invites the community to a free concert by organist Charles Harris of Red Bank, New Jersey at 4 p.m. Mr. Harris is the senior organist and Director of Music for the First Presbyterian Church of Red Bank where he is responsible for the a diverse music program that includes numerous choral, handbell, and brass groups in addition to a summer youth music camp. The concert is anticipated to include Louis Vierne, Charles-Marie Widor, Bach and variations on hymns.
