He was the son of the late Andrew Jackson and Essie Hester Harris and husband of Kathleen Pritchard Harris.

He was a member of Byars Baptist Church and retired from Bommer Industries. He was also an upholsterer.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Genelle Burdette of Travelers Rest, and four sons, Jackie Harris of Greer, Gary Harris, Steve Harris and Bobby Harris, all of Landrum; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters and a grandson.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Petty Funeral Chapel, conducted by Rev. John Fortner. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
