A native of Unicoi County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Vernon and Zora Riddle Tilson.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Melissa Smith of Campobello; five brothers, Roland Tilson, Don Tilson, Bobby Tilson, and Fred Tilson all of Erwin, Tenn., and Thomas Tilson of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters, Mary Lou Reedy and Irene Smith both of Erwin, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Dylan Trammell, Tanner Smith, and Chloe Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Smith was predeceased by one son, Jason Smith and two sisters, Armanda Watts and Lena Yates.

Visitation was held 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008 at the Wood Mortuary.
