Juanita Harris

Born in Gaffney, she was the wife of the late Sam Willard and the late Thomas Harris and the daughter of the late Jack Guthrie and Daisy Northey Guthrie. She was retired from the textile industry and formerly worked at Peeler&squo;s Dairy and Willard&squo;s Hash & Barbeque. She was a member and choir member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church for many years and thereafter became a member of Goucher Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Sammy Willard; four daughters, Nancy W. Bishop of Landrum, Patsy W. Wix of Gaffney, Martha W. Jordan of Charleston and Myrtis Parris of Gaffney; two stepsons, J. D. Harris of Gaffney and Thomas Harris, Jr. of Blacksburg, S.C.; one step-daughter, Betty Ruth Simpson of California; one sister, Marie Ross of Blacksburg; and eleven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandsons, Donnie Peeler and Joshua Abdenabi, two brothers Ralph Guthrie and Jack Guthrie; and three sisters, Vivian Turner, Othell Smalley and Mable Phillips.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Oct. 3, 2008 from 1 to 2 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rich Lancaster and Rev. Ron Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer&squo;s Association, 901 South Pine Street, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302 or Hospice Care of South Carolina, 1612 North Limestone Street, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.

The family will be at the residence of Patsy Wix, 116 Edgewood Drive, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
