She was a native of Columbia, S.C., and widow of Marvin A. Hedgepath. She was retired from Bell South, where she worked for 35 years.

She is survived by a son, Dr. Larry Hedgepath and wife Debbie of Mill Spring, a daughter, Marilyn White of Lexington, S.C., four grandchildren, Dr. Andy Hedgepath and wife Liz of Columbia, S.C., Kristin Gilchrist and husband Dan of Durham, N.C., Steve Styron and wife Patty of Sandy Run, S.C., Lesley Ferner of Monument, Colo., eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Another grandchild, John Phillip &dquo;Phil&dquo; Styron died suddenly and tragically the same day as his grandmother.

There will be a private burial service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Columbia, S.C. A service of remembrance will be held at Thompson&squo;s Funeral Home in Lexington, S.C., at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008. Visitation with the family will follow the service.
