The park features picnic tables, park benches and grills and plantings of trees and shrubs.
The new park is convenient to area residents, the congregations of three churches located nearby and the families living in homes recently built by Habitat for Humanity. The creation of the park has been part of redevelopment plans for the Eastside neighborhood.
Tryon town councilman Roy Miller stated, &dquo;We are so glad that the Unrestricted Fund grant has enabled us to address this need for a neighborhood park in that part of the East Side. This passive leisure facility is, indeed, an outstanding addition to Tryon&squo;s fine park system.&dquo;
