He was the son of the late Gordon and Annie Sue Russell Hyder and the husband of the late Shirley Ann Seay.

He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and retired from Simpkin&squo;s Industries.

He is survived by two sons, Dewayne Hyder of Inman, Russell Hyder of Campobello; a daughter, Sherry Green of Campobello; a brother, Ricky Hyder of Landrum; and 12 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Fairview Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Chuck Mullinax. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.
