Kyle Moreland

Born in Ocala, Fla., he had lived most of his life in Saluda. He was the son of Don Moreland of Ocala and Martha and William Collyer of Saluda. He attended East Henderson High School and served in the U.S. Army as a combat engineer. He was a supervisor for Ryder Truck Rental and Leasing, where he had worked for 19 years. He loved motorcycling, camping and restoring vintage cars. He was of the Baptist faith.

Kyle is survived by his wife of 23 years, Kim Moreland; two daughters, Kyla Moreland of Saluda and Kourtney Moreland of Fletcher; a grandson, Kamdyn Powell; two sisters, Donna Jones of Hendersonville and Hope Markel of Sunny View; two brothers, Richard Moreland of New Mexico and Billy Collyer of Hendersonville and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, at Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Walter Gordon and Rev. James Maybin will officiate. Presentation of the U.S. flag will be by members of the Henderson County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, at Thos. Shepherd and Son Funeral Directors. At other times they will be at the home.
