Born in Transylvania Co., she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Lula Thomas Owen. She was the widow of Albert Sawyer who died in 1972. Mrs. Sawyer was a member of Tryon First Baptist Church, Tryon.

Surviving are: a daughter, Jane Morris (Jimmy) of Boiling Springs, N.C. and a son, Jim Sawyer (Wanna) of Thailand. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held

2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel with Dr. Bill Henderson officiating.

Private burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus.

Family will receive friends immediately following the service in the McFarland Funeral Chapel.
