He was the son of the late Jessie and Susie Estelle Davis Brown. He was of the Baptist faith and a residential painter for over 35 years.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Foster Brown of the home; three stepsons, Ray Farmer of Roebuck, Marvin McCraw of Inman and Charlie McCraw of Chesnee; five step-daughters, Rene McKinnon of Spartanburg, Kathran Farmer of Spartanburg, Sheila Wofford of Landrum, Tonya Turner of Fingerville and Lisa Turner of Alabama; a brother, James David Brown of Lil Chicago; a sister, Margaret Smith of Campobello; a grandson; 23 step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Joe Brown.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept 17, 2008 at the Stribling Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Wofford and Rev. Sandra Smith officiating. Interment will be at Perkins Cemetery.
