Construction began at the beginning of this year on the 12-bed inpatient facility, and is expected to be complete before the end of the year. Hospice says it received donations from more than 500 community sources while surpassing its fundraising goal last year of $3.5 million. Area churches also helped fund a Hospice House Chapel. The facility, expected to cost more than $5.5 million, will provide a &uot;home away from home&uot; for terminally ill patients who can no longer stay at home.
