He was the son of the late Benjamin Perry and Eugenia Wilkerson Waldrop.

He was the oldest member of Jackson Grove United Methodist Church and a local poet.

He is survived by a sister, Beulah Grigg of Inman, and 13 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 6 at Jackson Grove United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Mike Bowers. Burial was in the church cemetery.
