Bob was born and raised in Seattle, Wash., in 1926. He graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology with a B.S. and a Masters Degree in Industrial Administration. His college years were interrupted by service in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Bob was a C.P.A. at Touche, Ross, Bailey and Smart before joining Teledyne Corporation as Treasurer. Subsequently, he was Vice President of Sales and Finance for M&M Mars Candies, and later as Vice President and Treasurer at Heede International.
In 1983, he purchased and operated the Pine Crest Inn in Tryon until 1990. After a brief retirement, he worked as a corporate consultant for Rummler-Brache.
Bob is survived by his wife Diane, sister Kathy Keehn, children Susan Johnson, Erick Johnson, and Christopher Johnson, four step-children, Elizabeth Shell, Thomas Llanso, Theodore Llanso, and Amy Llanso, and ten grandchildren. His first wife, Helene Crow Johnson, preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20 at Jamestown Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Bob&squo;s name to This Century Art Gallery Building Fund at P.O. Box 388, Williamsburg, Va., 23187.
