A native of Whitmire, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Asa Gossett and Lula Hooper Heatherly and stepdaughter of the late Charles Heatherly and widow of Woodrow Wilson Fricks.

She is survived by a son, Benjamin Fricks of Landrum; three daughters, Carla (Glenn) Downey of Inman, Cathy (Jimmy) Elder of Columbus and Debbie (Alan) Fore of Lyman; a step daughter, Cynthia Thompson of Laurens; two sisters, Betty (Tom) Hughes and and Sara (George) Woolen both of Spartanburg; and 10 loving grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Addington and Clara Papas and a brother Asa Gossett, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Landrum United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Jane Jenkins. Burial will be in Ebenezer Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of Debbie Fore, 540 Suncrest Court, Lyman, SC.
