Donald Kilpatrick

Born April 30, 1920, in Hendersonville, he was the son of the late Daniel and Jennie Duncan Kilpatrick. He was retired from Office and School Supply and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church for 58 years, where he served as a deacon, Sunday School director, and training union director for the local church and assistant director for Spartanburg County. He was a chaplain of Shrine Hospital guides for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Beulah Lyda Kilpatrick; a daughter, Rita K. Smith of Spartanburg; a granddaughter, Amy C. Smith of Tryon, a grandson, Benjamin R. Smith of Chicago, Ill.; and a brother, Reginald W. Kilpatrick of Hendersonville.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 8, 2008, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kirk H. Neely and Chaplain Jim Faust. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
