He was the husband of Joyce S. Copeland of the home. He was the son of Felix A. (Yvonne) Copeland, and the late Josephine C. Copeland and the son-in-law of Amogene Smith.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Mrs. Joyce Copeland, include one daughter, Tamika Copeland of the home; one son, Shawn Copeland of the home; two sisters, Sharon Stripling of Inman and Paulette Locklear of Spartanburg; two brothers, Michael Copeland of Campobello, and Donald Copeland of Greenville. He was preceded in death by one sister, Debra Copeland, and one brother, Ronald Copeland. He has five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at New Pilgrim Baptist Church in Campobello.

The family is at the home in Inman and also at the home of his father in Spartanburg.
