She was a retired textile worker, member of Spencer Baptist Church and the daughter of the late Melger and Cora Edwards Ward.

She is survived by two daughters, Lois Bailey of Lexington and Josephine McClure of Forest City; two brothers, James Ward of Shelby and Hicks Ward of Forest City; one sister, Hazel Harris of Columbus; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday July 22, 2008 at Crowe&squo;s Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, West 3rd St., Lexington, N.C. 27292.
