Born in Marshall, N.C., she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine Shelton Candler.

She is survived by three sons, Rick and Mike Jackson, both of Green Creek, and Stewart Jackson of Illinois; two daughters, Sophia J. Case of Tryon, and Jennifer J. Hines of Campobello; two brothers, Benny Candler of Virginia and Fred Candler of Greenville. One sister, Lillian Price of Taylors, S.C.&bsp; Also surviving are seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Darwin Candler.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 22, 2008 in Coopers Gap Baptist Church Cemetery, Mill Spring, with Rev. Dean Elliott officiating.

The family will be at: 165 McDowell Rd., Green Creek.
