Mrs. Vernon is survived by her husband, Preston Vernon.She was preceded in death by her son, Eugene &dquo;Peanut&dquo; Simpson.

The funeral service was held Monday, July 14, 2008 at the Landrum Spring Baptist Church. Burial was in the Mills Chapel Cemetery, Landrum.

Cannon and Sons Mortuary of Landrum was in charge of arrangements.
