According to Beth Anne Holmes of Tryon, she and her daughter recently saw this bear cub strolling beside a fence on Melrose Avenue, with another larger bear, presumably its mother, nearby. Holmes said her daughter snapped this shot of the cub with a cell phone camera just before the mother bear moved quickly to get close to the cub. (photo submitted)
