Myrtle Green

Born in Taylors, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Lee and Lillie Metcalf Davis and the widow of the late Romey Green, who went home to be with the Lord in 1978.&bsp; She was a faithfully dedicated member of Tryon Second Baptist Church.

Mrs. Green is survived by: two sons, Leon Green (Janice) of Mill Spring and Gene Green (Becky) of Mill Spring; one sister, Marie D. Wallace (Don) of Mill Spring. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Lisa G. Conner, Pamela G. Hyder (Kenneth), Keith S. Green, Andrea G. Fisher (Kevin) and Darren E. Green (Vicki); 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Green was preceded in death by six brothers, Girlie, Raymond, Thuren, Claude, Ernest and Eugene; three sisters, Mae Bradley, Cassie Davis and Pauline Davis, and a grandson, Richard Bryan Green.

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 3 p.m. in Tryon Second Baptist Church, with Rev. Dennis Jones and Rev. Joe Geddes officiating.

Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus.

The grandsons served as pallbearers and the great grandsons served as honorary pallbearers.
