Born April 29, 1927, in Clarke County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Carl Micajah and Mattie Adele Thrasher Bowden and the wife of the late Aubrey Thomas Tolbert. She was a member of Ben Avon United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Bradley of Molena, Ga., and Sharon O&squo;Brien and of Campobello; a son, Thomas Geoffrey Tolbert of Fountain Inn; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Elsie B. Staley.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at Floyd&squo;s Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by Mr. Robert Bradley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ben Avon United Methodist Church, 2360 Avondale Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.
