Pinecastle recording artists to perform at Veteran’s Park

Pinecastle Recording Artists The Darin Aldridge / Brooke Justice Quintet will perform Saturday, June 21 at Veteran&squo;s Park in Columbus.

Darin Aldridge was raised and still calls home, the small town of Cherryville, NC. He began playing piano and drums in the first grade. He took up guitar at age 12, and also played alto and soprano sax through high school, where he was selected to all county band and chorus. He was awarded the Sempfer Fidelis Award For Musical Excellence by The United States Marines Youth Foundation, Inc. and The Marine Corps League for Soloist and Performer.

He has performed with groups such as &dquo;Carolina Crossfire&dquo; and &dquo;Acoustic Syndicate.&dquo; Darin has recorded and toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada with &dquo;The Country Gentlemen.&dquo; He is a sought after studio musician and also teaches privately, as well as at The Gaston County School Of The Arts.

Brooke Justice is 24 years old and began singing at the age of 5. With support and encouragement from her family, she has consistently placed among the top finalists in many prestigious vocal competitions.

Together with their quintet which includes Eddie Biggerstaff- vocals and acoustic bass, Chris Bryant ‐ Vocals, banjo, and guitar, and Perry Woddie ‐ vocals, dobro, guitar, banjo, they perform some of the finest bluegrass and gospel music to be heard anywhere.

Please join your neighbors and this group at Veterans Park in Columbus on Saturday, June 21 at 8 p.m.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket, and bring your appetite for some great barbeque, served by Mountain View Barbeque. A portion of the proceeds benefit The Foothills Humane Society.

Admission is by voluntary donation. A collection in support of this series which runs through September, will be taken.
