William Hulzenga

He was born in Nykerk, Holland, and came to the United States in 1954 with his family. Prior to retiring in Bear, he worked in Mountville, N.J., for 37 years as a devoted librarian at Sussex County College. His greatest joy was being of service to students and faculty alike. He graduated from Washington High School in New York and continued on with his extensive education. He received an associate&squo;s degree from Orange County Community College, N.Y., a bachelor&squo;s degree from New Paltz College, a master&squo;s degree from Genesco College, and another master&squo;s degree from Jersey City College, N.J., in media.

He was the son of the late Clarence and Kornelia Hulzenga of Salisbury Mills, N.Y. Survivors are his wife, Sheila Hulzenga of Bear, and his daughter, Amanda Hulzenga of Chicago, Ill., his sister, Teri Hulzenga of Tryon, and brother, Clarence Hulzenga, Jr. and Sandie Haag of Cochton, N.Y. There are also many nieces and nephews.

The funeral was held at Grace Lawn Memorial Park, New Castle, Del. on Thursday, June 12, 2008.
