South Carolina House District 38, which includes the Landrum and Campobello areas,&bsp;will soon have new representation in Columbia,&bsp;based on unofficial results from Tuesday&39;s primary election.&bsp;Political newcomer Joey Millwood edged incumbent Bob Walker by 19 votes in the Republican primary for the House seat, capturing 50.31 percent of the vote. Millwood received 1,539 votes, while Walker received 1,520.&uot;I want to thank Bob Walker for the service he&39;s given South Carolina. He ran a great campaign,&uot; said Millwood on Tuesday night. &uot;I just feel like this was a big win for conservatism in&bsp;South Carolina.&bsp; I think people are ready for less government, lower taxes, and innovative education ideas.&uot;According to the unofficial results, Millwood, 28,&bsp;won six of the 11 precincts in the district, gaining his strongest support&bsp;in the Bowen, Campobello, Cherokee Springs&bsp;and New Prospects precincts. He also won&bsp;in the Motlow and Gramling precincts.Walker won by a wide margin in Landrum, capturing 316 votes compared to 247 for Millwood. Walker also won&bsp;in the Chesnee, Holly Springs, Arrowood and Brklyn Cs Fingv precincts, and narrowly edged Millwood among absentee voters.Walker, 65, has served eight terms in the S.C. House after first getting elected in 1993. He most recently has served in a significant leadership position as chairman of the Education and Public Works Committee.Millwood, who&bsp;will go on to face Democratic challenger Mark Chambers in November, will be&bsp;considered a favorite in the heavily Republican district.&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;&bsp;
