Dorothy Ayers

Born July 8, 1920, in Spartanburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul Vernon and Robena Sawyer Thomason and widow of William Perry Ayers. She was a member of Beaumont Baptist Church.

Survivors include two stepsons, Perry Robert Ayers of Westminster, S.C., and Clay Ayers of Green Creek; two sisters, Lorena T. Gussey of Hendersonville and Joan T. Elliott of Spartanburg; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a sister, Nancy T. Millwood, and three brothers, Donald, Frederick, and Jack Thomason.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Park.
