A native of Saunderstown, R.I., she was a daughter of the late George Arnold and Rowena Campbell Matterson.

Survivors include two daughters, Harriet Tillinghast Goodrich of Columbus and Rowena T. Mason of Chapel Hill; one grandson, Charles Phillip Goodrich of Columbus; and one granddaughter, Valerie Katherine Mason of Chapel Hill.

Memorial services will be held Saturday May 24, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at Moody-Connolly Funeral Home. A reception will follow the services at the funeral home.
