Tryon Town Council is considering a budget for fiscal year 2008-2009 with no tax increase, but is currently working out possible water, sewer and garbage rate increases.

The town is considering a $1,643,116 general fund budget with a 2.5 percent cost of living raise for employees and two percent merit raises.

Tryon Interim Town Manager Bob Shepherd says the town is attempting to be conservative in the budget considering rapid increases in fuel, energy and material costs.
