Barbara Cardaro

She was born in Tryon, and was the youngest daughter of the late William J. and Lura Pace Emory.&bsp; She graduated from Tryon High School in 1959. Barbara and her husband, Peter Cardaro, resided in Moose Creek, Alaska, for 18 years. She was a life member of The Moose Creek Alaska Lions Club. Barbara moved to Citrus Springs to be near her daughter after the death of her husband.

She is survived by her only child, Rita R. McCall-Outler, and her husband, Cory Outler. Also grandchildren, Laura Elrod, James C. Powell and wife Carla. Three great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Alice Levi and Elizabeth Plumley both of Columbus. One brother, Johnny Emory and wife Joyce of Greenwood, S.C., and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Cardaro, and two brothers, William J. Emory Jr. and Roy Emory, and sister, Wavelene Ballew.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 17 in Polk Memorial Gardens in Columbus, with Rev. Buddy Metcalf officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service Saturday, May 17 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon.

The family will be at the home of her niece, Norma Hunt, in Lynn.
