Mavis Westbrook

Mrs. Westbrook was born on August 22, 1919 in Polk County&bsp; and was the daughter of the late John Emerson and Julia Pearl (McIntyre) Scoggin and the widow of Howard Westbrook.

She was a member of Inman Mills Baptist Church, the T. E. L. Sunday School Class and was a member of the choir for many years. She had retired from Kempson&squo;s Rexall Drug Store in Inman and was a homemaker.

Survivors include a sister, Kay Murray of Charlotte; a brother, Dr. B. Elmo Scoggin of Raleigh; two step-daughters, Azalee Shealy of Columbia and Jane Mills of Panama City, Fla.; six step-grandchildren and a number of step great-grandchildren. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Tuesday evening, May 13, 2008, from 6-8 p.m. at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman.

Cryptside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, with Rev. Jack Hames conducting the services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mobile Meals, PO Box 461, Spartanburg, S.C. 29304.

Seawright Funeral Home and Crematory of Inman is in charge of arrangements.
