Winford Emory Sr.

He was born on March 30, 1929 in Caroleen, N. C., was the son of the late Claude Mack and Ida Mahaffey Emory and was the husband of Jessie Lynch Emory. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Landrum and had retired from Inman Mills.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Winford Glenn Emory Jr., Mack Emory, five daughters, Esther Renfro, Jeannie Harris, Christine Smith, Marlene Goode and Norma Nix, a brother, Willard Emory, four sisters, Maxine Strickland, Merle Foster, Shirley Lockhart and Margaret O&39;Shields, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Ronald Emory, three brothers, J. C. Emory, Boyce Lee Emory and Claude Mack Emory Jr.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 7 at 3 p.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Landrum, with Revs. Tommy Turner, Wayne Bradley and John Renfro conducting the services. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Inman.
