Agnes Newton

Born in Spartanburg County, July 6, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Lula Mae Wilson Cantrell. Mrs. Newton was a member of Temple Baptist Church, the TEL Sunday School Class and the WMU of the church.

Surviving are four sons, Alfred Newton of Rutherfordton, Homer Newton of Mill Spring, Stanley Newton of Greenwood and Christopher Newton of Ninety Six; three daughters, Jeannette Byrd of Laurel, Mo., Barbara Dotson of Mill Spring, and Reba Hudgins of Ruther-fordton; one sister, Edith Arledge of Saluda; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 2 at the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny McDaniel officiating.

Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

The family is at the home on Sirrine Street in Ninety Six.
