A native of Polk County, son of the late John Edgar and Carrie Jane Bruce Prince, he was a retired Baptist minister and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and El Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Prince was pastor of Mountain Hill Baptist Church for nearly 35 years.

Survivors include three sons, Tony J. and James E. of Greer and Butch Prince of the home; two daughters, Audrey Garrett of Inman and Maxie Dean of the home; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Rev. Prince was predeceased by a daughter, Carrie Prince.

He was the last survivor of all his siblings.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 24 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Terry Green, Rev. Paul Manus, and Dr. Danny Emory.

Honorary escort was all preachers in the North Greenville Association.
