A native of Polk County, he was the son of Frances Gibbs Pruitt of Landrum and the late Paul Edward Pruitt and husband of Gail Edney Pruitt.

He was self employed and a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Andy Lee Pruitt of Greer; four brothers, Edward D. of Landrum, David P. of Spar-tanburg, Kenny C. of Landrum and Jimmy D. of Inman; and a granddaughter.

The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008 at Petty Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Henry Coley and Rev. Tommy Turner.
