Henry Edwards

Born in North Carolina, he was a former resident of Polk County. He resided in Jacksonville, Fla., since 1975, having moved there from Tennessee. He had been employed with Ameristeel for over 30 years and was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Vietnam.
Preceded in death by a son, Michael Shane; his sister Wilma Morris and his parents, Marshall and Rilla Edwards, he is survived by his longtime companion, Gloria Sparks; son, Bradley Edwards (Joannie); daughter, Cheri Williams (Michael-Jay); step-son, Cliff Sparks (Miranda); step-daughter, Christina Peak (Michael); four brothers, Jackie Page, Harold, Howard and Jimmy Edwards, two sisters, Gail Halford and Debra Edwards, and four grandchildren, Bryce Hendrick, Caleb, Richard and Noah.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, March 5, 2008 in the chapel of Giddens-Reed Funeral Home, with Greg and Kelly Cannon officiating. Giddens-Reed Funeral Home of Jacksonville, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
