A native of Campobello, he was the son of the late Lewis Arthur and Josephine Carruth West and husband of the late Connie Correll West. He was a member of Inman First Baptist Church and a retired carpenter.

He is survived by two sons, Lewis West of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., and Luke West of Montclair, Va.; a sister, Parisade West of Campobello; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Fred West, brothers Elbert and Marcus West and sisters, Anna Lee Turpin, Rubye West and Gladys West.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 1 at Inman First Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Paul Moore and Rev. Ron Leonard. Burial was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
