Rev. Arden Morton

Rev. Morton was born in Coventry, N.Y., on April 24, 1933, the son of the late Neal Ray and Rose Morton and was the husband of Elizabeth Morton, who survives him. Other survivors include a daughter: Gail Spitznogle of Mill Spring, two sons: Gary Morton of Landrum, Gregg Morton of Columbia, S.C., five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.Rev. Morton was a retired minister in the Assembly of God churches, having served in three churches in New York state, and was the founder of the Camping Adventures Wilderness Programs in New York.He was a member of Bethel Assembly of God.A memorial service will be held at Bethel Assembly of God, Spartanburg, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, with Pastor Barry Shepps and Pastor Joe Camp officiating.The family is at the home and will receive friends Saturday 2-3 p.m. at Bethel Assembly of God.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Assembly of God Missions, 561 Upper Valley Falls Rd., Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.Seawright Funeral Home & Crematory of Inman is in charge of arrangements.
