Doris ?Dot? Arledge Mills Burnette

pBorn in Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Butler and Blanche Covil Arledge. She was a retired employee from CYP Textiles in Tryon. She was first married to the late Ray Mills, who died in 1969. Mrs. Burnette was a member of Midway Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities over the years. Surviving are her husband, E. S. Burnette Jr. of the home. One daughter, Anna Gibbs (Bert) of Columbus, and granddaughter, Megan Gibbs of Columbus. Four sisters, Jeanette Rhodes of Saluda, Virginia Mills of Columbus, Clyde &uot;Junie&uot; Henson of Tryon, and Harriett Case of Columbus. One stepdaughter, Peggy Bradley of Sunny View. Two stepsons, Carroll Burnette of Gainesville, Ga., and Gerald Burnette of Starr, S.C. Also surviving are 6 step-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2008 in Midway Baptist Church, Columbus, with Rev. Gary Lockee and Rev. William Swink officiating.Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus.The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel in Tryon.Memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church, P.
