Readership studies show the Bulletin with nearly three times the readership of any other local paper serving Polk County, N.C. and northern Spartanburg and Greenville counties in upstate South Carolina. Opinion leaders particularly rely upon the Bulletin. A 1995 survey of area leaders taken by the Polk County Community Foundation and N.C. The Bulletin is published five days a week, Monday through Friday, except for postal holidays. The subscribers&squo; copies are delivered by the U.S. Postal Service and the balance of the 5,000 plus paid readers each day are sold through 46 vendors and sidewalk racks across the entire region. The Tryon Daily Bulletin was founded in January 1928 by Seth M. Vining. His son, Seth Vining, Jr. published it until 1989 when it was sold to the present owner, Jeffrey A. Byrd. The Bulletin measures 8.5 by 11 inches and if you think that&squo;s small, it was enlarged in 1955 from 5.5 by 8.5 inches!
