THE STRONGEST READERSHIP

Readership studies show the Bulletin with nearly three times the readership of any other local paper serving Polk County, N.C. and northern Spartanburg and Greenville counties in upstate South Carolina. (Copies of research available upon request.) According to Circulation Yearbook 2007, the most widely circulated out of town newspaper has only 10.6 percent coverage of Polk County. Opinion leaders particularly rely upon the Bulletin. A 1995 survey of area leaders taken by the Polk County Community Foundation and N.C. Cooperative Extension, Opportunity 2000, found the Bulletin is read more than twice as often as any other newspaper circulated in the area. THE MOST RESPONSE

Readership means sales response and area residents know it. When asked in a professional poll of 400 homes where they would place a classified ad to sell a personal item, 64 percent of local residents said they would choose The Tryon Daily Bulletin.PUBLISHED 5 DAYS A WEEK AND DELIVERED BY U.S. MAIL

The Tryon Daily Bulletin was founded in January 1928 by Seth M. Vining. His son, Seth Vining, Jr. published it until 1989 when it was sold to the present owner, Jeffrey A. Byrd. The Bulletin measures 8.5 by 11 inches and if you think that&squo;s small, it was enlarged in 1955 from 5.5 by 8.5 inches! Even after that, we are still &dquo; The World&squo;s Smallest Daily Newspaper.&dquo; Our smaller page size means advertisers don&squo;t have to buy as much space to gain page dominance, a fact which allows you to access advertising&squo;s best kept secret ‐ frequency. The Bulletin is an institution in this unusual, upscale market. The community strongly identifies with the newspaper and reads it daily, from cover to cover. The Bulletin is filled with local news written by an award-winning staff including over 15 full and part-time writers, and is packed with local ads and classifieds. Area residents have been reading The Tryon Daily Bulletin for generations.Daily Newspaper Circulation in County Penetration in County
