As a primary care provider, Dr. Broyles is now seeing patients on Wednesday and Friday mornings at the Foothills facility, located at 108 W. Mills St., Columbus, until the renovations are completed to the planned Saluda Family Medicine, projected for completion by Spring 2018.

It will be the first time since 2014 when the Saluda clinic closed that the unique town of tourists and artists has had local access to a primary care provider.

“We are happy and excited to have Dr. Broyles as part of the Foothills Medical team,” said Dr. Jeffrey Viar, Foothills’ medical director. “She will be getting to know patients here on a part-time basis, ultimately transitioning to the Saluda community as we expand services in Polk County.”

The appointment of Dr. Broyles is a key component of St. Luke’s Hospital’s Strategic Plan, which includes improving and expanding access to care to ensure Polk County and neighboring residents are afforded exceptional, patient-focused healthcare, close to home.

Dr. Broyles, who is fluent in Spanish, graduated from the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University and completed her three-year residency in family practice at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. For the past several years, she has served patients at urgent care centers in South Carolina and Tennessee. Prior to this, she was medical director for the East Tennessee Spine and Nerve Center in Chattanooga and the Johnson City Tennessee Downtown Clinic.

Along with a professional interest in holistic/integrative medicine, she is a certified functional medical practitioner.

“Dr. Broyles’ commitment to her community is a great compliment to her skills as a physician,” Dr. Viar pointed out. “Her work as a volunteer with the Thermal Belt Outreach Feed A Kid program, as a board member for Junior League in Tennessee, and as a leader of several medical missions to Guatemala speaks to her passion for community service.”

The mother of two, Dr. Broyles enjoys trail running, yoga, homesteading, and song writing in her spare time.

“Foothills Medical Associates is gearing up to better serve our clients and community,” Dr. Viar said. “The addition of Dr. Broyles builds on our commitment to provide high quality, personalized, comprehensive healthcare to our community.”

He emphasized that the addition of Dr. Broyles will enhance treatment outreach and services for the Saluda community in both a convenient and welcoming environment.
