“As a grassroots arts festival, we started with only 18 vendors and have now grown to more than 80 artists and artisans. Art enthusiasts, visitors, and tri-state residents continue to support our cultural history, and we are delighted to open our hearts and history to everyone. To be immersed in mountain culture among the creative artists, incredibly talented musicians and culinary brilliance is a must for everyone to experience. The festival is designed to welcome all ages, whether the outing bonds family, connects music enthusiasts, or allows serious collectors to find new, favorite pieces,” says Wendy Hamil, Saluda Arts Festival volunteer.

Every facet of the arts is represented including paintings, pottery, metal work, jewelry, sculptures, fiber, leather goods, and more. Award winning musicians will cover an array of genres. The Hummingbird Band, Sound Investment, Hogtown Squealers, Over Mountain Band, Debbie C and the B’s, and Pistol Hill will bring the streets alive.

In addition, Saluda’s own Dancer’s Extension will hold their spring concert at Saluda Elementary School at 11 am, performing an array of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance.

The Saluda Business Association organizes the event each year with the help of a special team of dedicated people, the CORE (Creative, Organized, Responsible, Enthusiastic). All proceeds from the event go to support civic projects to preserve the balance of growth and historical venues.

Sponsorships from individuals and businesses coupled with grants graciously contribute to funding music and entertainment for the event. Saluda citizens love this festival day and the whole community turns out each year to enjoy the variety of art and music.

Saluda’s vision to connect its historic downtown to its beautiful natural assets and outdoor adventures is evident.
