Regan initiates talks with City of Landrum to place flowers at Brookwood Park

Anne Regan visited Landrum City Council at their work session on April 12 to talk about placing flowers at the gazebo at Brookwood Park in Landrum in honor of veterans for Memorial Day. Two marble monuments exist at Brookwood Park and Regan said she had been invited to do an article on the VFW ceremony at the park in January 2013. Regan now wants to put flowers at the park on behalf of the veterans who were honored in the ceremony and has requested the city’s assistance in doing so. Permanent flowers, as opposed to a memorial wreath the city brings to the park every year, have been asked for and the city agreed to further these talks. Specifics on the type of flowers to be planted have yet to be decided by the city.
