Polk County recently finished the installation of new flagpoles on the front of the Womack building. The county’s main office now includes the American flag on the left (facing the building) and the North Carolina state flag on the right. The building also recently had the words, “In God We Trust,” installed on the building between the new flagpoles. The county agreed to allow the U.S. Motto Committee to pay for and install the wording, which was completed at the end of March. (Photo by Leah Justice)
