Frances Ervin Freeman was born August 29, 1923 and died March 4, 2016.

A native and resident of Birmingham, Ala. for most of her life, she moved to Polk County, N.C. in 2002 and remained there until her death.

She worked at Down to Earth Garden Center for 13 years after moving to Polk County.

She was a graduate of West End High School and Judson College.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ila Moore Ervin and James Harvey Ervin, and her husband of 54 years, Fred M. Freeman, Jr.

She is survived by a daughter, Frances Garside (Gary) of Columbus, N.C., a son, Fred M. Freeman III (Lisa) of Birmingham, Ala., and a granddaughter Mary Frances Freeman of Costa Mesa, Calif.

A graveside service was held March 18, 2016 in Birmingham, Ala.

She will be greatly missed at work today.
