Foothills Equestrian Nature Center is excited to welcome the local band, Lake & Moore, to the great room at FENCE on Sunday, March 20, at 4 p.m. Join us for this wonderful free community event! Don’t forget to stick around after the concert to mingle with the band and snack on refreshments.

Lake & Moore get their band name from the names of their members, Ben Moore and Todd Lake. Ben and Todd first met in the early 1990s, performing music at the University of Maine while studying to become teachers. Today, they live about one mile from each other in Rutherford County. It wasn’t long after Todd moved to town that the two began strumming and singing together, and knew that they had something special.

The duo claims a variety of influences, but has an acoustic sound reminiscent of James Taylor and John Denver, but with the harmonies of Simon and Garfunkel. They perform over 30 original songs, mixed with familiar favorites. Their strong Christian faith is evident in the wholesome, family-oriented nature of their songs.

Last year, the group released its first CD titled “Days to Remember.” They are also currently finishing up a new CD called “Captions under a Photograph,” and hope to have these available soon.

This event is made possible by the Kirby Endowment at the Polk County Community Foundation.

FENCE is located at 3381 Hunting Country Road in Tryon. For more information about this event or upcoming events visit our website, fence.org, or call us at 828-859-9021.
